About Meg Turney
Megan LeeAnn Turney, known to millions simply as Meg Turney, is an American cosplayer, content creator, and former gaming media personality whose journey from behind the camera to in front of it is one of the most fascinating success stories in the cosplay world.
Meg’s story begins in Houston, Texas, where she grew up with an unapologetic love for video games, comics, and all things nerdy. Before the world knew her as a cosplay queen, she was making a name for herself in gaming media. In 2013, she joined SourceFed Nerd — part of Philip DeFranco’s popular YouTube network — as a host, covering gaming news and nerd culture with a charisma and authenticity that immediately resonated with audiences.
Her talent caught the attention of Rooster Teeth, the legendary Austin-based entertainment company behind Red vs. Blue and RWBY. In 2014, Meg moved to Austin to co-host The Know, a daily gaming and tech news show. Her time at Rooster Teeth cemented her status as a beloved figure in the gaming community, and she became a regular on the RT Podcast and other shows.
But Meg had bigger dreams. In 2016, she left Rooster Teeth to forge her own path as an independent creator — and the cosplay world would never be the same. Free to fully explore her creative vision, Meg dove headfirst into cosplay, producing stunning photo shoots that combined her genuine love for characters with a keen eye for artistry and a confidence that was absolutely magnetic.
Her D.Va cosplay from Overwatch became iconic, perfectly capturing the playful energy of the character while adding Meg’s own unmistakable flair. Her Harley Quinn interpretations — from classic to Arkham to Suicide Squad — showed incredible range. Whether she was portraying Cammy from Street Fighter, Tifa from Final Fantasy VII, or Princess Leia from Star Wars, Meg brought each character to life with a passion and authenticity that set her apart.
Meg Turney isn’t just a pretty face in a costume — she’s a pioneer who has helped legitimize cosplay as a serious creative career, proving that you can be smart, funny, nerdy, and undeniably gorgeous all at the same time.
